Biography:

Raveena Tandon is the daughter of Bombay film industry (Bollywood) director Ravi Tandon and her mother Veena is a home maker. Her name is an amalgamation of her parents' name.

Raveena dropped out of Bombay's Meethibai College to pursue a career as a model with middling success.

Raveena made her movie debut with the flop - Pathar Ke Phool (1991). It was only with Andaz Apna Apna (1994) that she tasted success. Mohra (1994) made her a superstar all set to become Bollywood's reigning actress.

By the end of 1995 her career was in tatters and she was reduced to the level of a starlet doing bit roles. Her career revived with a huge hit Ziddi (1997) and she now is again a top rung star.

She made her comeback in Bollywood with Amitabh Bachchan's Bbuddah...Hoga Tera Baap (2011) where she did an Item number.

Personal Life:

Before getting married to Anil she had an affair with co-star Akshay Kumar.

She adopted two children Pooja and Chhaya as a single mother in the 1990s.

Tandon began dating film distributor Anil Thadani during the making of her film Stumped (2003). She married Thadani on 22 February 2004. She gave birth to a baby girl called Rasha on 16 March 2005. She gave birth to her second child, a baby boy named Ranbir on 12 July 2007.

Controversy:

In November 2005, Tandon sued the websites, Shaadi.com and Shaaditimes.com, claiming that they were using un-authorized images of her to promote the site. She also sued the owner Satyanet Solutions, as they claimed that Tandon and her husband had met through the website.

Fashion:

Rani often dons clothes designed by Sabyasachi Dutta. She loves to wear saris and is seen in lovely draped saris in most of the occasions. Unfortunately, her western off screen attire has not been the talk of the town.
